The Reversing Land Degradation Trends and Increasing Food Security in Degraded \nEcosystems of Semi Arid Areas of Tanzania Project was designed to address \nthe critical challenges of land degradation food insecurity and climate change \nadaptation in targeted regions of Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar Implemented by the \nVice Presidents Office and funded by the Global Environment Facility \nthrough the International Fund for Agricultural Development the project aimed to \npromote sustainable land and water management practices enhance agricultural \nproductivity and strengthen community resilience to climate related risks Through \nseveral interventions the project worked with local communities government \ninstitutions and development partners to reverse environmental degradation improve \nfood security and increase economic opportunities for marginalized groups The \nprojects no cost extension until 2025 allowed for the consolidation of key achievements \nand ensured sustainability mechanisms were in place
